Yesterday was so busy that I only made it home at 5:30. I missed our evening prayers! Typically, from 5 to 5:30pm we listen to a selection of Christian chants on cd. It's the time to clean up, bring in the laundry from the line and transition from the day to the evening pattern. I feel so relaxed and serene when I hear the monks and the liturgy. I hope to expand my choices of vespertine prayer. Having children has made me appreciate the wealth of Christian tradition for matins and vespers. I never had this in my own childhood or early adulthood years. Hopefully, my own children will appreciate this valuable time. Missing it for one day has made me appreciate it.
